“The online media which are really able to work will be eligible for registration,” BSS quoted him saying while briefing reporters after the second day of the Deputy Commissioners’ conference on Monday (Jul 15).
The online media will be disciplined after the registration process is finished, he said.
The topic of the DC’s conference also included the social media and its challenges, the minister said before adding: “This is a big challenge not only for Bangladesh but also for the world, including Europe and North America,” he said.
About the demand of the DCs for constructing an information complex in every district, Dr Hasan said the government has already taken a project to construct 27 complexes. “I’ve already urged the DCs to select the place at their respective districts,” he said.
On the cable network, he asked the DCs to conduct the mobile courts strictly.
Replying to a question, Hasan said the ICT act is for ensuring digital security for every person. “We discussed the act in the meeting so none can misuse it,” he said.
