The government is mulling to make dope test mandatory for government jobs, says Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal.
He made the remarks while addressing a media call at the secretariat on Tuesday (Jun 25).
The minister said that job-seekers who will be not cleared in the dope test would be considered ineligible.
“If the dope test is made mandatory, then it might have a positive influence on the youth,” he said.
“Moreover, the students will be more aware if it’s done before job appointments,” he added.
Kamal reiterated that the government has adopted a zero tolerance policy against drugs and that they are steadily increasing manpower at the Department of Narcotics.
