President visits Imam Bukhari’s shrine in Samarkand

President Abdul Hamid visits Imam Bukhari (R) International Science and Research Center in Uzbekistan’s Samarkand on Tuesday (Jun 18). PIDPresident Abdul Hamid visited the shrine of distinguished Islamic scholar Abu Abdullah Mohamed bin Ismail Al-Bukhari, popularly known as Imam Bukhari, in Uzbekistan’s Samarkand on Tuesday (Jun 18).
He also visited the Imam Bukhari (R) International Science and Research Center, reports BSS.
The head of the state offered fateha at the grave of the country's first president Islam Karimov at Hazrat Khaza Khizir (AS) Mosque complex.
He also paid tribute to him by placing wreath at his grave.
President Abdul Hamid visits the shrine of distinguished Islamic scholar Abu Abdullah Mohamed bin Ismail Al-Bukhari, popularly known as Imam Bukhari, in Uzbekistan’s Samarkand on Tuesday (Jun 18).Imam Bukhari, a Persian Islamic scholar, died on Sept 1 in 870 AD at Bukhara, a district of Uzbekistan.
President Hamid is now in Uzbekistan as part of his seven-day visit to Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
The President and First Lady Rashida Khanam reached Samarkand by a bullet train around 10am local time.

PIDDeputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdul Karimov, Bangladesh Foreign Minister Dr AK Momen, Ambassador of Bangladesh to Uzbekistan Mosud Mannan, Secretary to the President Sampad Barua, Press Secretary Joynal Abedin and Secretary of Bilateral and Consular Kamrul Ahsan, among others, accompanied President Hamid.
Samakand Governor Erkinjon Turdimov and Pesh Imam of mazar mosque received the President. A special prayer was offered seeking blessings for the Muslim Ummah.
President Hamid also attended a luncheon hosted by the governor at the former residence of late first Uzbek president at Samarkand.
He also visited Amir Temur's Mausolem and some other historical venues which depicted the national customs and culture of Uzbekistan.
President Abdul Hamid visits Imam Bukhari (R) International Science and Research Center in Uzbekistan’s Samarkand on Tuesday (Jun 18). PIDThe president left Dhaka for Tajik capital Dushanbe to attend the fifth CICA summit on Jun 13 and flew to Uzbekistan from there on Jun 16.
He is expected to return home on Wednesday (Jun 19) by a special Biman Bangladesh flight.
