Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal will present the Tk 523.19 billion budget for the fiscal year 2019-20 at 3pm on Thursday (Jun 13).
Finance ministry communication official Gazi Towhidul Islam has said that the minister is ready to present the budget.
On Tuesday (Jun 11), the finance minister went to Apollo Hospital for check-up which triggered speculation about budget presentation.
But the ministry official Gazi Towhidul Islam says the minister is fit and went to Apollo for regular check-up.
This is his first budget after taking over; previously he helped the former finance minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith to prepare budgets.
Finance minister has called this the smart budget with the slogan: ‘Bangladesh on the bridge of prosperity; the time is ours.’
It’s known that all documents of the budget have been printed and work is underway at BG Press to print the booklet of budget speech.
