Rain, thunder showers likely to continue

A weather bulletin issued by the Bangladesh Metrological Department says, “Rain/Thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty/squally wind is likely to occur over the regions of Bogura, Rajshahi, Pabna, Tangail, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Faridpur, Madaripur, Jashore, Kushtia, Barishal, Patuakhali, Cumilla, Noakhali & Chattogram.”
Bangladesh has a subtropical monsoon climate characterized by wide seasonal variations in rainfall, high temperatures and humidity. The Bangladesh Meteorological Department's meteorologist AKM Nazmul Haque predicted that, “the Monsoon might reach with land on the first half of June with the beginning of heavy rainfall.”
The Met office also forecast that rainfall activity may increase and southwest monsoon may advance up to Teknaf coast in the next 72 hours.
River ports of Bogura, Rajshahi, Pabna, Tangail, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Faridpur, Madaripur, Jashore, Kushtia, Barishal, Patuakhali, Cumilla, Noakhali & Chattogram have been advised to hoist riverine warning signal number one.
On May 2, day temperature may remain nearly unchanged and night temperature may fall slightly over the country, according to the Met office.
