Parliament gets Tk 3.28 billion for FY20

National Parliament House of Bangladesh. BANGLATRIBUNE/Sazzad HossainThe Parliament the Secretariat Commission has approved an estimated Tk 3.28 billion for parliament for its development and non-development expenditures for the next fiscal 2019-2020 (FY20), reports BSS.
The approval came at the 30th meeting of the commission at the parliament complex on Thursday (may 24) with Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair.
The commission also approved the supplementary budget for the current fiscal 2018-19 and projected budgets for the 2019-20 and 2020-21 fiscal years.
Members of the Commission Prime Minister and leader of the House Sheikh Hasina, deputy leader of the opposition Rawshan Ershad, on behalf of the opposition leader, Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal, Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq were present at the meeting.
Chief Whip Nur-E-Alam Chowdhury attended the meeting at the special invitation.
Creation of new posts in different departments of the parliament secretariat, promotion and increasing the security of the parliament house also came up for discussion, state news agency BSS reports.
Housing and public works ministry secretary made a pictorial presentation on the renovation of the lake of the Jatiya Sangsad.
Senior secretary of the parliament secretariat Dr Zafar Ahmed Khan, finance division senior secretary Abdur Rouf Talukder, housing and public ministry secretary Md Shahid Ulla Khandaker and officials concerned were present.
