Security will be heightened throughout the country for the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr, said Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal.
“Check posts will be set up at the entrance and exits points in Dhaka,” he said on Sunday (May 19).
He added that the police will also lead block raids all across the country.
Responding to queries on the possibility of a terror attack, he said, “The detectives are alert. Buddha Purnima was celebrated successfully and I hope it’ll be the same for Eid.”
The minister said that the concerned authorities have been asked to pay the wages and bonuses of workers before Eid and steps will be taken if the transport authorities charge extra fare.
