When Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina came back from Brunei on Tuesday (Apr 23), Awami League MP Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim was also present to welcome her. Selim’s grandson, Zayan, was killed in Sri Lanka recently during the series bomb attack by terrorists.
Seeing the PM, Selim broke into tears and the PM could not hold back her emotion either since Selim is her first cousin and Zayan her grandson.
She consoled her cousin and inquired about the condition of his son in law, Zayan’s father, who was also injured in the attack and is currently undergoing treatment.
The PM returned from Brunei at 7.30pm on Tuesday. Sheikh Fazlul Karim is the PM’s first cousin and senior to her in age.
During the Apr 21 series bomb blast in Sri Lanka, his grandson was killed and son in law injured. The dead body of Zayan is supposed to flown back to Bangladesh on Wednesday (Apr 24).
