Draft law on Jamaat’s trial at Cabinet soon: Minister

“Please wait for a while. It will be placed in the Cabinet soon,’ he told the reporters after a programme on Monday (Mar 11).
Ekattorer Ghatak Dalal Nirmul Committee organised the discussion titled “The spirit of the Liberation War in election manifesto: Role of government and civil society,” at the city’s Engineers Institution.
On Feb 10, the minister’s told the parliament that that the government will settle the issue of trying Jamaat through a legal process.
“The law ministry has taken initiative again to send the daft law to the cabinet division in line with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's direction,” he told the House on that day.
On Monday, the minister also informed the audience that formation of a national minority commission is on the card.
“It’s only a matter of time and the demand will be fulfilled,” he told the programme adding, “A proposal [for the commission] will be placed before the Cabinet.”
Anisul said the demand for the commission is the result of accumulated anger of the minority communities.
He said the prosecutions will be asked to take necessary steps for disposing of pending cases against minority community members.
“Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina wants to include everyone in her effort to take Bangladesh forward,” the minister said.
