The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has identified eleven victims of the Chawkbazar fire through DNA tests.
“We have prepared the report, and it will soon be handed over to the investigation officer of the case,” CID Special Superintendent of Police Rumana Akhter told Bangla Tribune.
“Details will be briefed at 11.30am on Wednesday (Mar 6) at CID office,” she added.
On Feb 23, CID collected 32 DNA samples from the relatives of 19 people who were killed in the Chawkbazar fire, for cross-matching.
On Feb 20, a deadly blaze at Chawkbazar’s Churihatta killed 67 people on spot, with four others dying later on in the hospital.
