This year 127,198 will be making the pilgrimage to Makkah from Bangladesh.
“Of them, 120,000 pilgrims will perform the Hajj under private management while another 7,198 under government management,” said Cabinet Secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam
Speaking to media after a cabinet meeting at the Prime Minister’s Office on Monday (Feb 11), “Drafts of the and ‘Hajj Package-2019’ has been approved at the cabinet’s regular meeting with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair.
“This year the price for Hajj package-1 has been set at Tk 418,500 and package-2 at Tk 344,000 under the government management while the minimum price for private Hajj trips has been set at Tk 344,000,” he said.
This means the price of the government’s Hajj package-1 rose by Tk 20,571 while that of package-2 rose by Tk 24,645 year-on-year.
This year the plane fare has been fixed at Tk 128,000 which was Tk 138,191 last year.
The cost of Korbani sacrifices has risen from 475 Saudi riyals to 525 Saudi riyals.
“This year the Hajj will begin around Aug 10, depending on the sighting of the moon,” said the Cabinet Secretary.
