AL not going to people empty handed: Mayor Khokon

“We are going to people with our achievements. What achievements? In the 10 years that we held office, Bangladesh has moved upward from low-income country to a middle-income country,” he said on Monday (Dec 17) in front of the AL headquarters in Bangabandhu Avenue.
“The construction of Padma Bridge is almost over, poverty is being mitigated, job sectors are being created, the power sector has been developed, our beloved flag is out there in space through the satellite, and the nuclear power plant is fast running,” he added.
Celebrities glam up Awami League's polls campaignThe mayor was inaugurating the eight cultural teams that will campaign for the ruling party in eight different constituencies.
Saying that when AL does go to people asking for vote, they will not be going empty handed but with a lot of achievements, he added, “We are united today for the victory of the boat and Awami League.”
Various media personalities including actors Shakil Khan, Zahid Hassan, Tarin and many others were in attendance during the ceremony.
