Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan KamalThere may be quite a number of violent incidents throughout the country, surrounding the 11th National Elections, said Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal.

“The law enforcing agencies have been briefed regarding the matter and I will personally look into it,” he told the media on Thursday (Dec 12), during his polls campaign at the capital’s Bijoy Sharani area.

“Awami League and Jubo League leaders are being attacked left and right and it might be an attempt to foil the polls,” he added.

Responding to queries from journalists, about BNP’s allegations of baseless arrests, Kamal said, “No one is being arrested without a warrant. In fact, the Election Commission is fully aware of these valid arrests.”
He added that if they are not arrested an unstable environment will prevail in the country as the detectives have ensured that they are guilty of crimes and have been in hiding until now.

Regarding a level playing field, he said, “It’s the EC’s matter but I personally think there is a level playing field.”
Kamal, who is the AL candidate for Dhaka-12 said that their goal, if they win the polls, is to work for the youth and ensure developing a digital Bangladesh.
