The Election Commission (EC) has finalised the list of 40,199 polling centres for the 11th Parliamentary Election slated for Dec 30.
There will be over 200,000 voting booths at these centres where 104.2 million voters will cast ballots in the Dec 30 polls.
On Saturday (Dec 4), the EC issued gazette notifications on the polling centres for 300 constituencies.
According to Representation of the People Order (RPO), the Bangladesh election authority has a legal obligation to publish gazettes on the voting centres list at least 25 days before the election.
The seat-wise gazettes, signed by EC Deputy Secretary Abdul Halim Khan, contain details of polling centres including its serial no. location, name as well as numbers of voting booths, electoral area, and numbers of male and female voters.
As many as 37,707 polling centres were set up for 91.9 million voters during the 10th Parliamentary Election held on 2014.
