Eid-e-Milaudunnabi to be observed WednesdayThe holy Eid-e-Miladunnabi, the anniversary of birth and demise of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH), will be observed on Wednesday amid religious fervor and due solemnity across the country.
On the occasion, Religious Affairs Ministry in an inter-ministerial meeting on Monday (Nov 19) with Religious Secretary M Anisur Rahman in the chair took a decision to observe the day in a befitting manner with elaborate programmes across the country.
President and Prime Minister will give separate messages marking the day.
The national flag will be hoisted at all the government, semi-government buildings, autonomous organisations, non-government buildings and all the armed forces establishments across the country on the day.
The meeting also took a decision to display the national flags along with banners inscribed with ‘Kalima Taiyeba’ at many important points in the city.
The important government and military establishments will also be decorated with illumination during the holy night.
Officials from different ministries, department and agencies including officials of Religious Affairs Ministry, among others, attended the meeting.
Meanwhile, the Islamic Foundation (IF) will take a fortnight-long programme at the National Baitul Mukarram Mosque from tomorrow, said a press release.
The programmes include religious sermons, seminars, exhibition of Islamic calligraphy and posters based on the life of the Prophet (PBUH), Islamic cultural competitions, publication of a special souvenir and supplementary in daily newspapers and recitation of the holy Quran and poems on him, the release said.
A month-long Islamic book fair will also be organised on the mosque premises marking the day. The fair will be inaugurated after Magrib prayers at the National Mosque on Tuesday (Nov 20).
