Amid calls by several political parties to defer the polls, Chief Election Commissioner KM Nurul Huda says they will let know their decision on Monday.
His remarks came while speaking to the media on Sunday at the Election Commission offices at the capital’s Agargaon.
Responding to a query on whether the election slated for Dec 23 will be deferred in line with demands by the Jatiya Oikya Front, “That can’t be said now, since any decision is yet to be made. We have not discussed it.”
Asked whether a decision can be known on Monday, Huda replied, “Yes.”
Responding to another query, the chief election commissioner said, “We definitely want all parties to take part in the election.”
