Holy Eid-e-Miladunnabi on Nov 21The Muslims in Bangladesh will observe the holy Eid-e-Miladunnabi on Nov 21 amid religious festivity, marking the anniversary of the emergence of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
This was decided at a meeting of the National Moon Sighting Committee at the Islamic Foundation's Baitul Mukarram National Mosque meeting room on Friday (Nov 9) with Religious Affairs Secretary Anisur Rhamna in the chair.
The meeting was told that the moon of Rabiul Awal month of Hijri 1440 was sighted in Bangladesh on Friday and that the lunar month of Rabiul Awal will start on Nov 10.
So, the holy Eid-e-Miladunnabi, the 12th day of Rabiul Awal, will be observed on Nov 21.
On this day, in 570 AD, the 12th of Rabiul Awal of the Hijri calendar, Muhammad (PBUH) was born in Makkah of Saudi Arabia with divine blessings and messages of peace for humankind.
Muhammad (PBUH) passed away on the same day in 632 AD.
The day is observed as a public holiday.
