Chief election commissioner, Nurul Huda, said that everything will be done to ensure a free, fair, neutral and acceptable election.

He made the comment on Tuesday (Oct 16) at a meeting with senior regional election officials.

Election commission is an independent entity so no one should derail from constitutional duty; carry out electoral duties with a legal perspective,” said the CEC.

At the meet, he asked the officials to work with media, civil society and the masses to give the nation a proper election.

The meeting agenda included: assessment of voters’ list, necessary reforms, arrangement of training for election officials, supply of election items and budget.

Presided over by EC secretary Helaluddin, other commissioners were present at the meet.
