Two cases against Khaleda to be decided on Nov 1

BNP Chairperson Khaleda ZiaA Dhaka Court has fixed November 1 to decide if an arrest warrant will be issued or not against BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia for slandering Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and hurting religious sentiments.

The order was given on Thursday (Oct 11), by Dhaka chief magistrate, Asaduzzaman Nur.

A B Siddiqui lodged a case on Jan 25, 2017, against Khaleda Zia for making derogatory comments against Awami League and Bangabandhu at a programme held on Dec 31, 2016.

Investigating officer of the case, Shahbagh police Inspector Jafar Ali submitted a report stating that the accusation of slander has been corroborated.

AB Siddiqui lodged another case against Khaleda Zia for making a contentious remark while exchanging greetings with members of the Hindu community on Oct 14 Oct, 2014.
