Prime Minister and Awami League chief Sheikh Hasina maintains no official or personal accounts in the social media.
The ruling party said in a statement on Saturday that the premier as well as her sister Sheikh Rehana and daughter Saima Wazed have no accounts on Facebook and Twitter.
However, Hasina’s son and her ICT affairs advisor Sajeeb Wazed Joy maintains an official Facebook page and a Twitter account, said the media release signed by Office Secretary Abdus Sobhan Golap.
The statement also confirmed that Rehana’s son Radwan Muzib maintains a Facebook account.
The media release said any other accounts or pages in the name of Bangabandhu’s daughters Hasina and Rehana and the prime minister’s daughter Saima Wazed are unapproved.
Urging all to remain alert against unapproved accounts and pages, it said if any member of Bangabandhu’s family operates social media accounts in future, it will be informed through the media.
