After 11 days of the incident, the government has strongly condemned the attack on US Ambassador’s official vehicle in the Mohammadpur area of Dhaka on Aug 4.
“Government of Bangladesh strongly condemns the unfortunate incident. It is also committed to ensure safety and security of all Diplomatic Corps in Bangladesh,” says a press release issued by the Foreign Ministry on Aug 16.
The police immediately rushed to the spot and provided necessary protection ensuring that the Ambassador and the personnel remain unharmed.
Subsequently, the US Embassy expressed its appreciation for the role played by the Police in ensuring her safety and security.
“Bangladesh Law enforcing Agency has been actively engaged in investigating the incident. Upon completion of the investigation, appropriate actions will be taken,” it said.
It is mentionable here, US Ambassador’s official vehicle was under attack when she was leaving a dinner programme in Mohammadpur.
