Election Commission (EC) will not be hosting any electoral dialogue with political parties ahead of the upcoming general elections, says EC Secretary Helal Uddin Ahmed.
He made the remark to the media after a meeting at EC office in capital’s Agargaon on Thursday.
“We are working as per the assumption that election schedule is likely to be announced in the first week of November and the probable date of elections will be at December-end”, he said adding that EC will decide the rest.
Therefore, no possibility to hold talks before the polls, he added.
Mr Ahmed further added that the EC is nearly prepared to arrange the elections.
Previously, the EC sat in talks with political parties and stakeholders to seek advice and recommendation.
