Bangladeshi Asma’s ‘killer’ husband sent back to jail

Asma BegumA Bangladeshi man, facing murder charges for killing his wife Asma Begum, has been sent back to jail after he was produced before a London court on Friday (Jan 18).

31-year-old Asma, also a Bangladeshi, was killed in their flat in Poplar City Island Way on Jan 11.

The Old Bailey Court in London framed charges against Jalal Uddin, 48, for murdering the mother of three,

The children, a 10-year-old boy and twin daughters, have been handed to their maternal uncle’s custody through the court.

On the day of the murder, an argument between Asma and her husband turned violent when Uddin hit her on the neck with a heavy object which led to her death.

Police arrested Uddin the following day on Jan 12.
