Two 'drug dealers' killed in Cumilla and Barguna

ShootoutTwo suspected drug dealers killed in so-called shootout with the law enforcers on Saturday as a part of the on-going crackdown against narcotics in the country.
According to the report of Bangla Tribune correspondents, one killed in Cumilla and Barguna each.
Cumilla
A 'drug peddler' was killed in a so-called gun battle with a joint team of RAB and BGB at Kaptanbazar area in the district town early Saturday.
The victim was identified as Shahidul Islam Sabu who was wanted in 27 different cases including narcotics.
Acting on information, members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) conducted a drive in the area, said Company Commander of RAB-11, CPC-2 Major Ataur Rahman.
Sensing presence of the law enforcers, the 'drug dealers' opened fire on them, forcing them to fire back for self-defence, triggering the 'shootout', he added.
After the skirmish, the lawmen found Shahidul hit with bullets and took him to Cumilla Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
Barguna
A suspected robber gang leader was killed in a reported shootout with the members RAB in Barguna.
The incident took place in an island of Baleshwar River at Patharghata Upazila early Saturday, said the OC of Patharghata Police Station Molla Md Khabir Ahmed quoting RAB-12.
The victim was identified as Kajal, the chief of Kajal Bahini.
Kajal was killed during a 'gunfight' in a special drive of RAB, the police officer added.
