A court in Kushtia has sentenced four people to death for the murder of farmer Hanif Ali Khamaru in 2017.
Kushtia District and Sessions Judge Arup Kumar Goswami delivered the verdict on Wednesday (Oct 16).
The convicts are Shyamol Pramanik, 40, Asmat Ali Mandal, 43, victim Hanif Ali’s second wife Dolena Begum, and Mukul Hossain, 38.
According to case documents, the convicts took Hanif to a nearby field and murdered him on Apr 10, 2017.
The victim’s son from his first wife, Aminul Islam filed a case with Bheramara police the next day and on Jun 15, 2017, police filed a charge sheet accusing four people.
