Man held with $50,000 in BenapoleMembers of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have detained a man with $50,000 in Benapole.
Thirty-year-old Aktarul Islam, son of Yusuf Ali of Putkhali village of Benapole, was held from Khalsi Bazar area on Saturday.
Khulna-based BGB-21 Battalion Commander Lt Col Toriqul Hakim said, “Acting on a tip-off, a patrol team from Putkhali camp took position in Khalsi Bazar.”
As Islam arrived riding a motorcycle, BGB men obstructed him and recovered the US currency after searching his body.
“The man with the US currency and the motorcycle was handed over to the Belnapole port police. Hakim said.
