Two cattle traders have been killed and at least seven others were injured when a truck veered off from the highway in Manikganj.
The incident was reported early on Monday (Aug 12) on the Dhaka-Aricha Highway in the district's Ghior.
Police said 18 cattle traders were returning home with 11 unsold cows when the truck fell into a roadside ditch at Joka in Ghior upazilla.
Two of them were killed on the spot, said Yamin-ud-Doula, officer-in-charge of Barangail Highway Police.
The deceased were identified as Monwar Hossain, 25, and Ujul Ali, 40, from Kushtia, said the police officer.
The injured were taken to the state-run hospital in Manikganj district town, he added.
