Prof Abdus Sobhan was addressing the 65th founding anniversary programme of Rajshahi University on Friday (July 6).Rajshahi University Vice-Chancellor Prof Abdus Sobhan has termed the quota reform movement as anti-government.
“This country was liberated as the freedom fighters sacrificed their lives and Bangladeshi women lost their dignity. Then, is it unfair to have freedom fighter quota? Why they want to abolish it? As a matter of fact, it is not anti-quota movement, it is an anti-government movement,” said Prof Sobhan while addressing the 65th founding anniversary programme of Rajshahi University on Friday (July 6).
“A vested quarter is trying to destabilize the campus,” he alleged.
Reprimanding 14 university teachers who organized a press conference, the vice-chancellor said, “A group of teachers organized a media briefing yesterday (Thursday) using the government system. They worked against the government as they supported the anti-quota movement.”
