Ctg police to use drones for cattle market surveillance

Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) Commissioner Mahbubor Rahman briefs the media at the port city`s Dampara Police Lines on Saturday (Aug 3).Cattle markets in the port city will come under police surveillance with drones equipped with cameras, said Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) Commissioner Mahbubor Rahman.
"To avert any untoward incident, we have taken adequate security measures in and around the cattle markets of the city," he said on Saturday (Aug 3).
The CMP chief was briefing the media on the port city's security and traffic management ahead of Eid-ul-Azha at Dampara Police Lines.
Rahman said, "Police control rooms and watchtowers will be set up in the cattle markets. For the first time, drones with cameras will hover over the cattle markets.
"Besides, fake note detecting machines will be set up in the cattle markets with the help of Bangladesh Bank,” he added.
The CMP chief also said that no cattle markets will be allowed to be set up outside of areas specifically designated by the city corporation.
"Uniformed and plainclothes police personnel will remain vigilant in and around the cattle markets," the CMP boss said.
"We have already arrested members of doping gang members. We have asked the police officials not to stop cattle-laden trucks without specific information," he furthered.
