Rifat murder suspect Aryan on fresh remand

Shahnewaj Rifat Sharif FILE PHOTA court in Barguna has sent one of the suspects in the broad daylight killing of Shanewaj Rifat Sharif to the second round of remand.
Aryan Srabon, named in the murder case, was put on a five-day remand by the court of Barguna Senior Judicial Magistrate Mohammad Sirazul Islam Gazi after police produce him in it seeking seven days in remand on Saturday (Jul 13), said Humayun Kabir, investigation officer of the case.
Earlier on Jul 7, the court also put Ariyan on a five-day remand, said Kabir, who is the OC of Barguna Sadar police.
On Jun 26, Rifat Sharif was hacked to death by criminals in broad daylight in the district town. The incident was caught on surveillance cameras.
Police have so far arrested 13 people in connection with the murder.
Prime accused Sabbir Ahmed alias Nayan Bond was killed in a reported gunfight with police on Jul 2.
Six people, including three named in the first information report, gave statements under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure confessing to their role in the murder.
Rifat Sharif, 22, was hacked to death by criminals, in front of his wife Ayesha Siddiqua Minni, in broad daylight in the district town on June 26. The incident sparked outrage across the country.
Father of the deceased filed a case with the Sadar police in this connection on Jun 27.
