Courts orders arrest of BNP’s Giasuddin Quader Chy

A BNP vice-chairman, Giasuddin Quader Chowdhury`s brother Salahuddin Quader Chowdhury was executed for war crimes in 2015.An arrest warrant is out for BNP leader Giasuddin Quader Chowdhury on charges of threatening to kill the prime minister.
On Thursday, a judicial magistrate in Chattogram (Chittagong) ordered arrest for the BNP vice-chairman, who is the brother of executed war criminal Salahuddin Quader Chowdhury.
The order came in response to a complaint filed by Fatikchhari Upazila Awami League General Secretary Nazim Uddin Muhuri, said Metropolitan Awami League’s Legal Affairs Secretary Ifthekhar Saimul Chowdhury.
Another complaint on similar allegations against the BNP leader has been filed by former BCL leader Nurul Azim Rony, he added.
“The court has ordered the OC of Panchlaish Police Station to take all necessary steps to record the case by Rony.”
On Tuesday, BNP leader Chowdhury at an event in Fatikchhari said the prime minister's fate would be worse than that of her father Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The BNP vice chairman now faces three lawsuits for his remarks as on Wednesday, Fatikchhari BCL President Jamal Uddin filed a case.
Fatikchhari police OC Zakir Hossain said they have arrested local BNP leaders Nurul Islam and Mansur Alam Chowdhury on charges of threatening to murder the head of the government.
