At least six people were killed in a Barishal on Friday (Mar 22) morning, when a bus and diesel run Mahindra auto rickshaw collided head-on.

The incident was reported around 9:30am at the Gariarpar area on Barisal-Banaripara road.

All the victims were auto rickshaw passengers including its driver.

They have been identified as the driver Sohel and passengers— Shila, Manik, Khokon and Parvin. The other victim’s identity was not immediately available.

Airport police OC Abdur Rahman Mukul said, “A Durjoy paribahan-operated bus, which was coming from Banaripara collided head-on with an auto rickshaw, coming from the other side, leaving five dead and injuring four others.”
