Five people were killed and 10 others injured a passenger bus rammed a iron-laden truck from behind in Cumilla.

The incident was reported around 6am on Sunday (Feb 17) at Chauddogram’s Gangra area.

The victims have been identified as Chayna Hijra, 50, Anwar, 45, Hashi Begum, 40, Aslam Molla, 50 and Salam Mia, 50. All of them hails from Khulna.

“A Chattogram bound Bus hit a truck, which was carrying iron beams, from behind leaving five dead on the spot,” said Chauddogram Mia Bazar Highway police post In Charge Monjurul Alam.

“The injured have been sent to local hospitals,” he added.
