Woman’s burnt body found in Narayanganj

NarayanganjA burnt and battered body of a woman was found at her home in Narayanganj, said police.
The victim has been identified as 35-year-old Naima Rahman, wife of Thailand expatriate Asinur Rahman.
The blood-soaked burnt body was recovered on Saturday noon (Jan 19) from the victim’s residence at Sonakanda area in the district’s Bandar Upazila, said Narayanganj Additional Superintendent of police Subash Chandra Ghosh.
“Several injury marks with sharp weapon have been spotted on the head of the victim,” added Ghosh.
“Some miscreants hacked her indiscriminately for 5 to 6 times, leaving her dead on the spot from excessive loss of blood. Later, they set fire to the body and fled the scene,” said Bandar police OC Rafiqul Islam.
“Being informed by the neighbours, police recovered the body and sent it to Narayanganj Hospital for autopsy,” said Islam before adding, “We have collected the evidences from the scene and initiated probe into the murder.”
