The government has decided to give permission to export rawhide to ensure fair prices for the traders, says an official statement.
In the statement issued by the commerce ministry on Tuesday (Aug 13), the ministry directed the divisional commissioners, deputy commissioners, upazila nirbahi officers (UNO) and the officials concerned to cooperate with the government on the matter.
The government also sought the cooperation of the traders to ensure the buying and selling of the rawhides at fair prices, fixed by the commerce ministry, it adds.
According to information, the rawhides having been obtained from different sources were not being bought and sold at fixed prices.
“The ministry is urging the traders related with the rawhide business to be more responsible,” it reads.
The government also directed the traders to preserve the rawhides maintaining the proper system, it adds.
