Branches concerned of all scheduled banks will remain open on Saturday (Jun 29) to provide cheque, chalan, pay-order or demand draft services to clients for payment of their income tax, VAT and customs duty.
All the banks have been asked to take adequate security measures for those branches, according to a Bangladesh Bank circular issued on Thursday (Jun 27).
It specifically asked all commercial banks to remain their branches open at the district towns and the state-owned Sonali Banks' branches at all upazilas across the country.
