Inflation slightly rises to 5.6% in May

Planning Minister MA Manna has attributed the hike to the rice in the prices of non-food products.
The latest figures by the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS), released by the minister on Tuesday (Jun 18), showed that inflation for food products in May stood at 5.49 percent, down from 5.54 percent the previous month.
Meanwhile, non-food item inflations rose to 5.84 percent from 5.64 percent in April.
