Biman adds leased 737-800 aircraft to fleet

The national flag carrier brought the aircraft on lease from Kuwait’s Alfaco Company that arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) around 3:25 am, Biman’s spokesperson Shakil Meraj told the state news agency.
Biman will add another Boeing 737-800 aircraft on lease next month while the Boeing Company is scheduled to deliver two more brand new Dream liners 787 in July and September next, he said.
Biman’s fleet now has 14 aircrafts – four Boeing 777-300 ER, two Boeing 787 and two Boeing 737-800 ER by its own and three Boeing 737-800 ER and three Dash 8 Q 400 on lease.
Currently, Biman operates on 16 international and all domestic routes. It carried 2.6 million passengers in last fiscal year. Recently, Biman resumed its direct flight to Delhi and is set to operate a flight to China’s from July.
