House panel urges businesses to not hike prices in Ramadan

“Traders who sell adulterated foods are more dangerous than the terrorists who set people on fire… Please don’t increase the price,” Chairman of the Committee Mohammad Nasim told the media after a meeting held at the parliament’s media center on Wednesday (Apr 10).
Speaking of the meeting, the former health minister said that the panel made some recommendation on taking zero tolerance to and strengthening raid against food adulteration, ensuring safe and nutritious food for health

“The government will strengthen the anti-adulteration drive across the country as like as wiping out of the drugs and militancy from the country,” said Food Minister Sadhan Chandra Majumder who is also a member of the body.
Committee members Nurul Islam Nahid and Whip Atiur Rahman Atique, food secretary shahabuddin Ahmed, Director General of Food M Arifur Rahman Apu and Bangladesh Food Safety Authority (BFSA) Chairman Mohammad Mahfuzul Hoque, among others, attended the briefing.
