Post-graduation mandatory for top bank officials

The central bank has made the post-graduation degree mandatory for the appointment of the chief executives of the commercial banks.
A notification, undersigned by Bangladesh Bank’s Banking Regulation and Policy Department General Manager Abu Farah Md. Naser, was circulated on Monday (Dec 24), effective immediately.
The notification, sent to the banks' top officials, said, “A bank chief must have a post-graduation degree from any recognised university.
Priority will be given on higher institutional education on economics, accounting, finance and banking, and business administration for appointing or reappointing a chief executive.
No third division/class at any academic level will be accepted, it reads.
The central banks issued the circular under its authority given by Section 45 of the Company Act 1991.
