Many, during the Eid Holidays, retreat to the serenity of Gazipur’s natural setting. A slice of solace under the shades of greenery allows them to let go of the weariness built up in the busy city life. Over the years more than a hundred resorts have been developed in Gazipur for the likes of those. Many resorts are already booked ahead of the Eid-ul-Azha, says people related to the business. The picnic spots in the Districts have also become all colourful after being spruced up targeting the Eid season. In short, Gazipur resorts and picnic spots are now full of activity.

Abul Bashar, another official at the picnic spot told Bangla Tribune, some rides have been decorated. In his words, “Visitor flow usually increases during Eid. At least 500 visitors on average come to our garden every day for a week starting from the Eid day.

Another popular tourist spot in Gazipur is the Safari Park. Rafiqul Islam, in charge of the facility, told Bangla Tribune, “The fact that, Royal Bengal Tigers, bear-cubs, zebras, peacocks, lions and some rare species of animals are roaming about freely in the park, is very appealing to the visitors.” Safari Park officials and employees are always ready to welcome visitors, he added.

Greentech Resort’s Manager Atikur Rahman said half of the rooms are already booked in their compound, situated across the Dhaka-Mymensingh Highway to the east of Gazipur town’s Bhabanipur Bazar. He told Bangla Tribune, “Gazipur is home to more than a hundred picnic spots and resorts and all of them spend busy hours during Eid.”

There are 73 rooms in Greentech with each room comfortable for two persons. The entire resort is being polished for the ensuing Eid season. There are separate packages for deluxe and water bungalows. Rent for the deluxe room for two is 5900 BDT with an additional Bar-b-cue and Swimming pool access for Aug 23 and 24. The same facilities are being offered with the water bungalows that is priced at 7900 BDT for two.
