Telecommunication Minister Mostafa Jabbar has ordered the Bangladesh Communications Satellite Company Limited (BCSL) to seek specialised consult to ensure that the proposed Bangabandhu Satellite is free of any technical errors.
“Seeking specialised consult is a must for a plan to ensure that the proposed Bangabandhu Satellite-2 is free of errors as much as possible” he said during a program on Wednesday (Sept 4).
The minister said that under Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s visionary leadership Bangladesh has come to a point where knowledge is needed to execute projects without worrying about the funds.
Jabbar said that several long and short term plans must be adopted prior to Bangabandhu Sattelite-1 life time ending in the upcoming 15 years.
“We must move forward using the experience for the launch of Bangabandhu-1,” he said and added that planning ahead for Bangabandhu-3 and 4 was also in order.
“Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has taken the initiative to establish the Space University in Dhaka in order to tackle the lack of human resources in this sector,” he said.
Terming Sheikh Hasina as the pioneer of digital revolution, he said that she was continuing in the path her father Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman set during his lifetime.
