Licences of 48 ISPs revoked

In a statement issued on Monday (Jul 22), the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) said licences of 23 central zone and 25 nationwide service providers were cancelled for not renewing in time.
According to the orders, as per the terms of the ISP license, the license must be renewed for the next ten days before the expiry of five years. The licenses of these ISPs have been cancelled due to non-renewal even after expiration.
Internet Service Providers (ISPs) have been instructed to pay all due payments within the next one month, otherwise action will be taken according to the law.
