Palak advocates youth entrepreneurship

State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Zunaid Ahmed PalakState Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak has urged youths to become digital entrepreneurs for contributing to the government’s efforts to make digital Bangladesh.

Entrepreneurial endeavours by the country’s youth will play a key role in the government’s aim to reach information and communication technology services to people’s doorsteps, said the state minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT).  

“The present government under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is extending ICT services to the villages and the digital entrepreneurs have a vital role for reaching those to the grassroots people,” he was quoted by BSS as saying.

His comments came while addressing the closing ceremony as the chief guest in a daylong entrepreneur conference in Rajshahi on Saturday (Apr 27).

Divisional Commissioner’s office and A2I Project of Prime Minister’s office jointly organised the conference titled “Youths Power is Prosperity of Bangladesh” at Rajshahi Medical College auditorium in the city.

Over 1,200 entrepreneurs from union, pourasava and city digital centers in all eight districts under Rajshahi division attended the conference.

Chaired by Rajshahi divisional commissioner Nur-Ur-Rahman, the function was addressed, among others, by ICT secretary Ziaul Alam, A2I project director Mustafizur Rahman, additional divisional commissioner Zakir Hossain and deputy commissioner SM Abdul Kader.

State Minister said the digital centre entrepreneurs should take the responsibility of transforming the villages into towns through providing the ICT services to the grassroots people as the government intends to turn villages into towns.

He urged the entrepreneurs to put in their level best efforts to make the centres more effective and dynamic so that they can earn more through providing services to the grassroots people.

In his remarks, ICT secretary Ziaul Alam said the grassroots people are getting their necessary information from the digital centres as those are also contributing a lot towards supplementing the government efforts of building ‘Digital Bangladesh’.
