Asia Open Access Conference kicks off in city Wednesday

The Asia Open Access Conference will be held in Dhaka on March 6-7. Bangladesh Agricultural Research Council (BARC) organizes the conference titled 'Asia Open Access Dhaka 2019'.
This conference is being held regularly in different countries of the world, including Asia, in collaboration with the Confederation of Open Access Repositories (COAR).
The conference will be inaugurated on 6 March at the Central Auditorium of Dhaka's BARC office. In the two-day conference, many of the researchers, academics, will take part.
Conference coordinator and BARC Chief Documentation Officer Dr Sushmita Das told the Bangla Tribune that there will be many seminars, workshops, round table meetings in the conference. Many of the universities and research organizations will present their own articles at the conference. She mentioned that the conference will focus on various issues related to open access, open science, open education and open licenses. The conference is held internationally every year. Now, this event is in Bangladesh.
Centre for Open Knowledge (COK) is cooperating in organizing this conference in Bangladesh. The organization is working with open data, open education, open science, open license in Bangladesh. COK president Professor Mostafa Azad Kamal told the Bangla Tribune, "We have been working for a long time in Bangladesh, especially on openness. We present these issues in the conference.''
More than a hundred participants from different institutions, universities, research centres, and other organizations will join the conference.
