The telecoms regulator has fixed three days as the minimum expiry for data and voice packages offered by mobile phone operators.
In an order on Sunday (Jan 27), the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission said the directive would be effective from Feb 1 and it would be reviewed after 30 days.
In case usage of the packages end, subscribers can browse maximum data for Tk 5 on pay-per-use. Then, subscribers have to opt for new packages, reads the order.
According to the latest figures by the BTRC, the number of mobile subscribers in Bangladesh was a little less than 157 million by the end of December 2018.
