Users in Bangladesh are being able to use video chat tool Skype after an outage of nearly 24 hours.
International Internet Gateways (IIGs) received the telecoms regulator's instruction to unblock Skype around 4:30pm, Emdadul Huq, general secretary of Internet Service Provider Association of Bangladesh, told Bangla Tribune.
The directive by Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) comes a day after the application was blocked throughout the country.
The outage came amid the ruling Awami League raised objections on BNP acting chief Tarique Rahman joining the process of screening prospective candidates through videoconferencing from London.
