In the first and second quarter of the year, there is a great fight among the smartphone brands which are imported in legitimate ways. Samsung smartphone is in the top of the list in combat. On the other hand, Xiaomi is a rising brand among the new brands. On the basis of sales amount and trade amount, the position of two brands is enchanting which is known from the related documents.
When asked to Ruhul Alam Al Mahbub, the president of Bangladesh Mobile Importers Association and Managing Director Fair Distribution, one of the distributors of Samsung mobile phone, said, ‘There has been a change in the taste of people. Fancy is also present in the mind of people. For this, people are now buying mobile phones for the fulfillment of tastes and fancy. That's why the smartphone market is spreading.
Regarding the position of Samsung mobile phone in market competition, he said, ‘Samsung is a well-known brand. Its smartphones have been able to gain peoples’ faith. At the same time, it plays a key role to create a taste to use smartphones. For this reason, Samsung is at the top of all brands.
It has been found that the demand for smartphones price of less than Tk 10 thousand was reduced in the second quarter compared to the first quarter. The new models of high-quality smartphones are more expensive, but the buyers tend to lean towards them. In particular, before Eid-ul-Fitr, the demand for smartphones has increased, market leaders said. People now have included the smartphone for Eid shopping, thus the sales of smartphones have increased.
An analysis of a smartphone import file has shown that Samsung is at the top of the import in the first quarter as a smartphone set. These are followed by Huawei, Symphony, Oppo, Lava, Xiaomi, etc. Samsung, Huawei, Symphony, Oppo, Lava, Xiaomi, etc. are at the top of the second quarter.

Xiaomi, a rising brand of Smartphone is flourishing in the market now. It has been able to create a new position in the second quarter compared to the first quarter. Dewan Kanan, CEO of Solar Electro Bangladesh Limited (SEBL), distributor of Xiaomi Mobile in the country said, 'Xiaomi has achieved 300% growth in the second quarter compared to the first quarter. He also said, 'we surveyed that Xiaomi smartphones are preferred by the young generation of the country.’ Every year, smartphone growth is up 50%.
