In the first round, Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) franchise cricket team, Dhaka Platoon got the chance for the second call and Coach Mohammad Salahuddin took Tamim Iqbal but Dhaka did not take Mashrafe Mortaza, who won four BPL titles in the past. But they took Mashrafe in the fourth round. But why such a delay?
Salahuddin said: “Of the A class cricketers, Dhaka’s target was Tamim Iqbal and as per rules, no more than one person can be called for A Plus category. We did not have the chance to call him.”
Dhaka features Shahid Afridi, Mashrafe, Tamim and Thisara Perera.
Salahuddin says: “T20 is the game of experienced players and decision has to be taken on every delivery.”
“We were lucky this time and got the players we wanted,” said the coach.
The coach added that decision of the captain has not been taken as yet.
