Sunrisers Hyderabad have released Bangladesh allrounder Shakib Al Hasan ahead of the next edition of Indian Premier League, according to local media.
The Bangladesh ace is currently serving a two-year ban with one year of it being suspended for breaching anti-corruption codes.
The ICC took the extreme step after Shakib Al Hasan failed to report multiple approaches made to him by a bookie.
In the last couple of years, a bookie named Deepak Aggarwal approached Shakib through WhatsApp on a number of occasions to get details about the team.
He was once approached during an international game and once during an IPL game last year but decided against informing the officials, thus breaking the protocols.
Sunrisers Hyderabad had roped in the ace in 2018 auction after he was released by Kolkata Knight Riders.
Apart from Shakib, Sunrisers Hyderabad have also released veteran allrounder Yusuf Pathan, New Zealand opener Martin Guptill, Deepak Hooda as well as Ricky Bhui.
Yusuf has looked like a pale shadow of his old self in the last two seasons while Guptill has failed to get going too.
Moreover with David Warner and Jonny Bairstow forming a formidable pair at the top, Guptill was unlikely to get much chance. Hooda and Bhui were not a regular part of the playing either last season.
